‘Charybdis’
- kuh·rib·duhs -

Part 1
So our story begins in Ancient Greece with Charybdis - a Sea Nymph, daughter of Poseidon who worshipped and protected the sea and it’s life force within. One day, she assisted her father Poseidon in his quarrel with Zeus over power. She aided in flooding many lands with sea water which aggravated Zeus, as she stole this land from him. He retaliated by capturing her, chaining her to the ocean floor and striking her down with a bolt of lightning. This turned her into a dangerous hideous sea monster. Three times a day she drew vast quantities of sea water bringing with it sea creatures and beings that happened to be caught in her midst. This massive volume of sea water was spat back out with incredible force. Her uncontrollable thirst for the sea generates a giant powerful whirlpool of unimaginable size and depth.
Her force can still be felt today in the Strait of Messina in the Mediterranean.
