Beneath The Reef & Above the Stars

The inspiration for this piece came through when I was thinking about crabs
and fish in the ocean, how the crabs walk along the bottom of the ocean and
fish swim through the water. Which is similar to how humans walk on land and birds fly.

I wonder if crabs perceive the fish and wonder how they fly through their sky? And that got me thinking how us humans must seem alien to the crabs and fish as if from a different universe. Which then led me to think about what's beyond the stars above us and are there beings above the stars looking down on the humans and the birds on earth just as we see crabs and fish in the ocean?

This piece is a very special commission, it’s for a beautiful baby
boy about to be birthed into this world. It is such an honour to be able to
create a painting for a fresh soul entering this world to absorb and take in as he grows, and for his Mother to enjoy every-time she enters his space. I wanted the artwork to be captivating and bright, with lots of detail and elements of the stars.

I'm so happy I was able to capture some abstract sea creatures amongst the flowing movement of the oceanic milky way. I honestly feel like this is one of my favourite pieces to date. I am beyond grateful to share my creative expression through my art.
